Epoxy Powder Coating Properties
Epoxy powder coating is a thermosetting material, applied by electrostatic spray, fluidized bed and hot flocking. It offers the best chemical and corrosion resistance. Epoxy powder coating is used in the coating of gas and oil pipe, which is buried and cathodically protected against underground galvanic corrosion.

Epoxy powder coating provides excellent protection in these environments. However, epoxy powder coating has some limitations, primarily its poor resistance to ultraviolet (UV) radiation. When exposed to sunlight or other UV radiation, epoxy powder coating "chalks." This is a milky or chalky surface condition which in many cases can be removed by washing or polishing. It reforms rapidly, however, and presents an aesthetic problem. Custom epoxy powder coatings are best suited to specific environments, such as underground or indoors.

Epoxy powder coatings, with a wide variety of colors, are designed to serve as decorative as well as functional coatings.

An epoxy powder coating is applied cold by electrostatic spray produces thin films of 1 to 4 mils. Thick films of 10 to 20 mils can be achieved by heating the part to be coated and using a fluid bed coat (dip), hot flock spray, or electrostatic spray.

Epoxy Powder Coating Makes Your Products More Valuable
Denmac Industries' custom powder coatings greatly enhance the value of products. Epoxy powder coatings help resist corrosion, provide a harder yet flexible finish, are scratch- and ding-resistant, conceal minor surface flaws and add color consistency and a durable, high gloss.

Some of the many items that become much more valuable when you add epoxy powder coatings and use Denmac for your powder coating services:

* Automotive accessories and underbody * Light fixtures
* Electrical apparatus and framework * Power tools
* Metal cabinetry and shelving * Indoor furniture
* Sports equipment * Wire goods

Epoxy powder coatings provide a hard, smooth, sag-free finish. They develop excellent adhesion to most metallic surfaces without a primer and without extensive pretreatment, such as sandblasting. Their inherent toughness accounts for their providing excellent mechanical and thermal shock resistance without fracturing.

Coating powders generally offer a better long-term, non-corrosive finish. They also offer excellent dielectric properties. Epoxies can be used for applications where resistance to dilute aqueous salts, alkalies, aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons, petroleum solvents or greases and oils are required.

Think of Denmac's Custom Powder Coating as Paint with an Attitude.
