What We Engrave Into
Different materials take the laser differently. Metal can be marked with a dark, high-contrast finish or cut to expose the material beneath the anodizing. Wood burns to a rich brown that varies attractively with the grain. Acrylic frosts to a clean white. Glass takes on an etched, satin look. We will tell you what to expect on your material before you commit.
Why Permanence Is the Point
Most branded merchandise fails the same way. The print cracks after a few washes or the logo wears off the mug in a dishwasher, and the item either gets thrown out or, worse, keeps circulating with your brand looking worn out on it.
Engraving does not have that failure mode. The mark is cut into the material, so it lasts as long as the item does. For anything intended to sit on a client’s desk, ride in a truck, or get used daily for years, that difference is the entire value.
It is also why engraving reads differently than printing. A logo cut into brushed steel or burned into wood carries a weight that a printed one does not, which is why it is the standard finish for gifts and awards.

Denmac has been drilling, coating, and finishing metal parts in Paramount since 1970. Engraving into metal is not a new discipline for us, it is an extension of what this shop has always done.
That background shows up in the details: knowing how a given alloy or finish will take the mark, how anodized aluminum behaves differently than raw stainless, and how to set up a run so the result is consistent from the first piece to the last. Most engraving shops come at this from the promotional-products side. We come at it from metal.
One Shop for Every Decoration Method
Engraving is one of four decoration methods we run in the same building. Screen printing and pad printing cover printed graphics on flat and shaped surfaces, and embroidery covers apparel and soft goods.
For a branded program that spans apparel and hard goods, that is one vendor instead of three. Engraved tumblers for the client gifts, embroidered polos for the team, printed items for the trade show booth, coordinated to the same brand standards and produced under one roof.
We will also tell you when engraving is not the right method. It produces a single-color mark in the natural tone of the material, so it is not the answer for a full-color logo that has to appear exactly in brand colors. Pad printing usually is. We would rather get you the right result than push the process we happen to be quoting.

Engraving lasts as long as the item. Printed graphics sit on the surface and can wear, scratch, or fade with use and washing. For items meant to be used daily or kept for years, engraving is the more durable choice.
Vector files hold their edges at any size and give the cleanest result. Fine detail and very small text can be engraved, though the practical limit depends on the material. We will flag anything that will not hold up and suggest an adjustment.

Engraving produces a mark in the material’s own tone rather than in ink, so the result is single-color by nature: dark on metal, brown on wood, white-frosted on glass and acrylic. When a job needs exact brand colors, pad printing or screen printing is the better method, and we run both.
The laser removes or alters a thin layer of the surface, leaving a permanent mark. On metal it can darken the surface or cut through an anodized layer to the material underneath. On wood it burns. On glass and acrylic it frosts the surface.
